There are stick and tissue walkalong glider models also with similar long couple designs and their flying technique involves the controllable slope (paddle or pizza box…) to be held at a shallow angle. So it looks like the aircraft design is what determines flying technique. My designs are all short coupled (butterflies and flying wings) so my technique is to have the controllable slope vertical. Thanks for pointing that out about the long coupling.
